What are the advantages of the FREE BBP Staff Training Kit?

Again, simply insert the video into your DVD drive/player or plug the flash drive into your USB port and the students will receive the training and testing material immediately, which frees you up so you can tackle other items on your to-do list. How does it work?

First, have students view the presentation. Second, ask if the students have any questions about the content and, if required, have them demonstrate any psychomotor skills (e.g., medical exam glove removal, handwashing technique). Finally, have them take the test, which is at the end of the video presentation, and then review and remediate, as necessary.

What is included in the FREE BBP Staff Training Kit?

The content is a video-formatted blend of text, illustrations, and photographs. Utilize the video as you deem appropriate. The presentation is a very detailed and thorough overview of bloodborne diseases and the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard and specifies the requirements and responsibilities of the standard. There are two items listed on the video menu: “presentation” and “test.” There are other items mentioned during the presentation, i.e., four appendices, which include the “Hepatitis B Declination Form,” “Example of the Exposure Control Plan,” “Types of Personal Protective Equipment,” and “Example of Sharps Injury Log,” but viewers are not required to view the appendices. For your convenience, the appendices as well as a glossary of terms, reproducible test answer sheet and test answer key are also included in a separate folder.

Note: This 1- to 2-hour course may take less time, depending on the knowledge base and/or educational background of the students.
